Volunteering

Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds. For example they may have recovered or be recovering from an anxiety disorder or depression, be supporting a family member with an anxiety disorder, or be a health practitioner or a student with an interest in anxiety disorders or depression.

ARCVic volunteers are people of all ages who have a breadth of personal experience, are empathetic, non-judgemental and good listeners. They also believe in the prospects of hope and recovery.

If you are interested in volunteering with ARCVic in any role please email admin@arcvic.connexionpoint.com.au

For volunteering with one of our specific programs please view contact details in the ‘Volunteer Roles’ area of this site.

NOTE: We take pride in preparing all our volunteers for their role through extensive training (min. 3 days) that incurs a nominal fee to cover our costs.  Upon acceptance into a program, volunteers facing financial hardship can apply for our Anna Kouloubos Scholarship Award.

The Anxiety Recovery Centre began assisting us with setting up a support group in Traralgon for people..

My experiencing as a support group facilitator has been extremely
rewarding. I can see the benefits the groups provide our participants when they
return each session with things to share, and many say that they are just
grateful to have a safe space to connect with people going through similar
things. Some participants have also expressed that in Victoria they cannot
access support groups similar to those that ARCVic provides (e.g. for body
dysmorphia), so they are grateful that ARCVic allows them to share on these
matters and feel less alone. Nicola
