Body Dysmorphic Support Group A

Body Dysmorphic Support Group A

The Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a place for those experiencing BDD to come together and discuss challenges, self-help ideas, and coping strategies. The group is generally not structured, with participants sharing and discussing their own topics. Our friendly facilitators are on hand to keep the group running smoothly.

Date:2nd Thursday of the Month
Time: 7pm-8.30pm
Venue: Online (via zoom) or dial in by phone

NOTE: This is our only online support group that allows participants to dial into the meeting either directly by phone (no screen necessary) or using the zoom link without their camera on. If using zoom, participants can also opt to turn off self-view (i.e., others can see you but you can’t see yourself) or to keep their camera off altogether. Please ask our friendly facilitators if you require information on these options.

We ask that participants respect the private and confidential nature of support groups during a meeting. Please only join if you have a private, safe space available, and please always use a headset or earphones.

My experiencing as a support group facilitator has been extremely
rewarding. I can see the benefits the groups provide our participants when they
return each session with things to share, and many say that they are just
grateful to have a safe space to connect with people going through similar
things. Some participants have also expressed that in Victoria they cannot
access support groups similar to those that ARCVic provides (e.g. for body
dysmorphia), so they are grateful that ARCVic allows them to share on these
matters and feel less alone. Nicola
